We Are IB!

While the International Baccalaureate (IB) provides a framework for learning, the content within each subject area is driven by the DCPS curriculum and scope and sequence. 

Last week, an IB evaluation team was able to see and understand most, if not all, that Deal has to offer its students, and the hard work by teachers and staff to make it all happen.  While not everyone saw the evaluation team, everyone in the building participated in the IB evaluation process in some way. 

Throughout this evaluation cycle:

• 4 policies were reviewed and revised

• 16 IB Units were written, self-evaluated, and sent to be evaluated

• 40 sample assessments were selected and submitted

• 16 subject group overviews were written, revised, rewritten, and submitted

• 1 self-study was review, debated, and submitted

• 1 programme development plan was written, implemented, and amended for future use

• 10 parents made Deal and the IB programme a priority by participating in a parent panel discussion

• 24 students gave classroom tours

• 10 students participated in a student panel discussion

• 14 classrooms were visited

• 42 teachers participated in a discussion panel
