ADCA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee
Our Mission
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is a collaborative group of parents and school administrators focused on uplifting the voices of diverse communities. We support the families of Alice Deal Middle School as well as the faculty and staff. We embrace and celebrate differences—including those of culture, race, ethnicity, religion, age, family structure, sex and sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, socioeconomics, learning style, and world view among others.
We commit ourselves to create spaces that consciously highlight justice to inspire the new generation to work toward an inclusive future and understand the reason behind disparities that currently exist. We understand diversity provides the opportunity to learn how to authentically create human connection and dispel harmful stereotypes. We work in the spirit of inclusion so that we, as a collective, can combat erasure and make sure communities affected by systemic oppression have a voice and work through the lens of equity to create an understanding that people of different backgrounds and abilities may have different needs, but all are equally important.
