Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to another exciting school year at Alice Deal Middle School! On behalf of the Athletic Department, I am thrilled to invite our students to participate in our Fall athletic programs. School sports provide students with opportunities to build confidence, develop leadership skills, practice teamwork, and represent our school community with pride.
FALL SPORTS:
🏐 Volleyball
🏃 Cross Country
⚽ Soccer
🏹 Archery (Must Have Previous Experience)
Athletic Forms and Physicals Required
Before participating in any tryout, practice, or competition, all student-athletes must submit a completed DCIAA Athletic Participation Packet, including a current physical examination.
Please note: NO student may participate in athletics without completed athletic forms. A separate copy must be submitted for sports participation. There are no exceptions.

We strongly encourage families to complete and submit all paperwork as soon as possible to ensure students are eligible to participate when tryouts begin. Forms can be emailed to Deal.Athletics@k12.dc.gov or students can submit in-person.
Tryout dates and times for Volleyball, Cross Country, Soccer, and Archery will be announced during the first week of school.

Student-Athlete Expectations
Students interested in participating should:
Submit all required athletic paperwork before tryouts.
Have a current physical examination completed.
Maintain positive academic standing and attendance.
Demonstrate good sportsmanship, effort, and responsibility.
Arrive prepared with appropriate athletic attire and equipment.
We look forward to a fantastic school year.

Tuesday 8/25- Interest Meeting, 3:30pm Deal Gym Boys & Girls are invited
Thursday 8/27- Open Gym ($0), 3:30-4:30pm for Deal Students only
Saturday 8/29- DC Prep Clinic ($25), 11:30am-2pm for DC students grades 5-9
Monday 8/31- Tryouts, 3:30-6pm
