PARCC Scores Arriving Via Mail Soon

Families of students who took PARCC at Deal in Spring 2023 should receive their scores by mail over the next two weeks. Incoming 6th graders who attended a DC Public School will receive the scores by mail from their elementary school.  

DCPS’ PARCC results show an overall increase in proficiency from last year in both English Language Arts (ELA) and math. In ELA, 37.9% of DCPS students scored proficient, which is 2.5 percentage points higher than 2022. In math, 25.4% scored at a Level 4 or 5, 3.1 percentage points higher than 2019.  (Chancellor's Letter attached.)

Deal's PARCC results demonstrate gains from last year in both ELA and math that surpass the District's.  In ELA 78% of our students scored Level 4 or 5, which is 6 percentage points higher than 2022.  In math, 64% of our students scored Level 4 or 5, which is 5 percentage points higher than 2022 and 1% higher than our pre-pandemic math score!
