Good afternoon,

Thank you to the entire Deal community for your support during Friday's shift to an alert status. As you know, DCPS placed Deal in an alert status when gunshots were heard in the vicinity of the school. When schools are directed to shift to an alert status, DCPS provides communication and updates to families. We have heard that some families did not receive the texts via Blackboard. We are working with the DCPS Communications Team to resolve this matter as quickly as possible.
