Happy Summer

Congratulations to our 8th graders who were promoted to high school last week. Continue to be curious, courageous, and kind! Shout out to Wilson SHS and former Deal parent (and Wilson SHS staff member) David Thompson for supporting our efforts to live stream our FIVE promotion ceremonies - Accra, Disko, Gogogogo, Kobe, and Port-au-Prince.

Device Return
Sixth and seventh grade students who are not participating in summer programming should plan to return their borrowed devices (Surface Pro Go and/or T-Mobile Hotspot) to Deal no later than July 2, 2021. Devices will be accepted at Deal any weekday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Please direct all questions and concerns to Ms. Chambliss.

Fall Sports Season Update
DCPS Athletics is planning for a full return to in-person athletic operations for the fall season of SY2021-2022. Tryouts and practices for fall sports teams start on August 2, 2021; details will be outlined through each school and team(s). Completed Student-Athlete Participation Forms are currently being accepted in preparation for the fall sports season.

This is the final Sunday Bulletin for SY 20-21. What a year we have had! Thank you to the Deal community for your support. Kudos to our teachers/staff for their ability to pivot and grow. Shout out to the ADCA and LSAT for their commitment to ensuring our school's success. A special note of appreciation to our assistant principals - Ms. Gathers, Mr. Moore, and Mr. Rottman - for their hard work.

To our students: thank you for being you. Each of you did the best you could do and thrived in your own way. You've shown grit, resilience, empathy, and determination. Some have struggled, but you all have persevered. You have been the embodiment of our mantra - Here we GROW! We love you.
