Solar Eclipse

On Monday, April 8, a partial solar eclipse will grace the skies over Washington DC. While DC isn’t in the path of totality, we will still be treated to a fascinating celestial display starting at 2:04 pm with the maximum eclipse at 3:20 pm. It will be possible to experience darkness in the daytime and briefly see the sun’s corona, or outermost atmosphere, though it is not safe to look at this with the naked eye. To this end, we will provide students and staff with NASA-approved solar eclipse glasses during 7th period on April 8.  Total eclipse safety information is available HERE.
