Indoor Track and Field Tryouts!

Indoor Track and Field Tryouts:

  • Thursday, November 17th @ 3:30pm

  • Friday, November 18th @3:30pm

All interested student-athletes MUST attend at least one session of tryouts this coming week to be considered for the season. Tryouts will take place after school on the Deal field. Prospective student-athletes should arrive on time and dressed in attire that will allow them to fully demonstrate their plyometric capabilities. Prior to attending tryouts please ensure that the student-athlete has filled out this FORM. We will use this to keep track of who is supposed to be in attendance, without this form your student-athlete cannot attend tryouts.

Tryouts will consist of time trials and drills to assess athletes' propensity towards the field and running events unique to track and field. We will assess students on distance running, endurance, sprints, throws and jumps. In the event there are skills we are unable to assess during initial tryouts, we will notify potential student-athletes of callbacks which will take place the following week. The final roster will be placed outside of the gym locker rooms as well as outside Coach Beckley/Feagen's classroom E103.

We must employ tryouts as there is a cap on the number of student-athletes that may participate in indoor track and field. We will ensure that every grade level is represented on our final track and field roster. In the event that your student-athlete does not make the team for Indoor track and field, they are more than welcome to try out for our Outdoor season in the spring or they may take part in Deal's running club. Students selected to participate in the Indoor team will receive a welcome email with further logistics and communications following the conclusion of all tryouts.

Practice Schedule!

Students that are selected to participate in the Indoor track and field team will have practice every Monday and Wednesday starting at 3:30pm after school on the Deal MS field (weather permitting).
