Debate Team Results

This weekend members of the first year debate team participated in the Washington Urban Debat League debate tournament at Dunbar High School in DC.  The tournament was attended by 240 debates from 20 different charter and public high schools from the District of Columbia and Prince Georges County, Maryland.  Deal students did a great job of picking up a number of awards in the novice division. 

  • Josie Casspaar and Annika Kimbrell—2nd place

  • Lila Noti and Sabrina Campbell—8th place

  • Nora Kaprowski and Anna Morgan—9th place

  • Receiving special recognition as outstanding speakers in the tournament were Josie Casspaar—8th place and Emma Pfaffenroth—9th place.

The team’s next outing will be February 11 at Thurgood Marshall Public Charter School.
