Deal BSU Reno Park Tour

Do you know the rich history of the Reno School? Join us Friday, August 25 from 12:15 - 1:15 pm for our Black History Talk and Walking Tour by signing up here.

You’re invited to join the Deal Black Student Union for an interactive discussion of the African American Fort Reno community displaced during the late 1920’s to build a new Junior High School (Alice Deal) and a high school (Jackson-Reed, formerly Woodrow Wilson). Our discussion will be led by historian Neal Flanagan , who is currently working on a book about the impacts of American urban planning on the neighborhoods of Washington, D.C., during the first decades of the 20th century.
