Beginning of Year Diagnostic Assessments

Deal students will take the Reading Inventory assessment in ELA classes (Monday - Wednesday) and the SAGE assessment in I&S classes (Thursday - Friday). Both are DCPS required diagnostics used to identify the specific skills each student needs to develop, identify each student’s areas of strength, and measure academic growth throughout the school year. Teachers use the data from both assessments to inform instruction.
