Service in Action at Alice Deal

A core value of an IB MYP school is student participation in service. This service can look very different. Everything from traditional canned food drives, to raising awareness of an issue and possible solutions are examples of students at IB MYP schools putting service into action. Service in action also cultivates a sense of belonging, one of our core SEL competencies. Therefore, in December, all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will work on Service in Action. This service will take place by team, during 6th period on Thursdays. For 8th graders, they will begin their capstone service project for the IB MYP programme: the Community Project. Please be on the lookout for updates from the team, and reach out if you would like to be involved!
