Deal's Shakespeare Mashup!

Check out this VIDEO for a preview of Deal's upcoming Shakespeare mashup. Even if you think Shakespeare is not for you, give the video a watch -- this is not your granddaddy's Shakespeare!

We will hold auditions beginning November 30 and the performances will be February 17, 18, and 19, 2022. Rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:45 pm.

Since we will present a “Mashup” of some of Shakespeare’s greatest hits - we will have the chance to choose pieces that personally fit our students.

Audition Information
For the first two weeks of the production, we will be holding workshop auditions; this means we will be working in small and large groups on the skills, voice, and movement required to perform Shakespeare’s verse. The workshop auditions will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from November 30 to December 9, from 3:45-5:45 pm.

At this LINK you will find three of Shakespeare’s famous speeches. For auditions, students should choose one that speaks to them and become familiar with it. It is not required that students memorize the piece. All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to audition regardless of experience with Shakespeare or theatre. We are looking for open minds and a sense of adventure!!!
