Asymptomatic Testing on Monday
Tomorrow, students will be tested in their CES, SLS, Chinese, and French classes beginning at second period. It is important that students not eat, drink, chew gum, or put on lip gloss/lipstick the hour before testing as those substances can impact the test sample and thus make the student ineligible for testing. All students are eligible to participate but have an option to opt-out.
Per DC Health guidance, individuals who have tested positive for COVID in the last 90 days SHOULD NOT participate in asymptomatic testing, which uses the PCR test. The PCR test identifies viral genetic material that can shed for 90 days and thus testing after an infection is discouraged.
