Tardy Hall

First period begins at 8:45 am daily.  Students who arrive after 8:45 are considered late and should bring an excuse note or use this LINK.

After Thanksgiving, we will begin a school-wide Tardy Hall for students who are late to any class (1st - 7th periods)  during the school day.  Tardy Hall will occur every Wednesday with the exception on the third Wednesday from 3:30 until 4:30 pm for students with unexcused tardies.  Unexcused tardies will be tracked from Mondays through Fridays and families will be notified that their student has Tardy Hall on Mondays.  Tardy Hall will take place in the Reno Multi-purpose Room under the supervision of Mr. Donaldson.  The first day of Tardy Hall will be December 11.

Tardy Policy Highlights:

  • Arrivals Without a Pass: Students arriving late without a verifiable signed pass will be marked tardy.

  • Arrivals With a Pass: Students arriving late with a verifiable signed pass will be marked "tardy excused."

  • Tardies Per Class: Unexcused tardiness is tracked and calculated separately for each class period.

  • Tardies Reset Each Term: Unexcused tardies used for the calculation of consequences will reset at the beginning of each term.

Consequences for Unexcused Tardies:

  1. First Unexcused Tardy: Verbal reminder of the importance of punctuality.

  2. Second Unexcused Tardy: Parent/guardian contact and a Tier 1 consequence by the teacher, such as a verbal/written reflection or lunch detention.

  3. Third Unexcused Tardy: Assignment to Tardy Hall and creation of an attendance tracker in collaboration with the student and dean/administrator. There will be parent/guardian contact via email from the school.

  4. Fourth Unexcused Tardy and Beyond: Tier 2 consequences given by the dean/administrator, including additional after-school or Saturday detention, mandatory interventions, or a family conference if needed.
