Community Project Fair
Our annual Community Project Fair will be before International Night on January 25 from 4:30 until 6:30 pm. As you may know, all 8th graders at Deal are required to complete an MYP Community Project. The MYP Community Project focuses on service learning through community action and encourages students to explore their rights and responsibilities, and work towards creating positive impact in their communities. Through their community project, our 8th graders have been to encourage and enable students to:
participate in a sustained, self-directed inquiry within a global context
generate creative new insights and develop deeper understandings through in-depth investigation
demonstrate the skills, attitudes and knowledge required to complete a project over an extended period of time
communicate effectively in a variety of situations
demonstrate responsible action through, or as a result of, learning
appreciate the process of learning and take pride in their accomplishments.
Requested Donations: canned goods, dried beans and grains, used clothing items, athletic equipment, school supplies, young adult books, feminine products, travel sized toiletries, healthcare products, toothbrushes, deodorant, hairbrushes, baby clothes and food, animal toys, canned dog/cat food, harnesses/leashes
