Lunar New Year Field Trip

Sixth and seventh grade Deal students learning the Chinese language went on a field trip to East Dumpling House for Lunar New Year. 🎆🧧

Lunar New Year marks the beginning of a new year based on the lunar calendar. It is a time for family reunions, good fortune, and fresh beginnings! Thank you everyone who made this special event possible!

🥟As part of the celebration, students made dumplings, a traditional dish symbolizing prosperity because their shape resembles ancient Chinese gold ingots. The dumplings were filled with a mix of meat and vegetables. The dumplings were delicious with the bubble tea!🧋

Through this hands-on activity, students enjoyed a cultural experience and learned about the customs and significance of this important holiday. Students also sang Karaoke in both Mandarin and English. They definitely had a blast!
